At Marker Learning, we are dedicated to transforming the way students access learning disability assessments. With one in five students facing challenges like dyslexia, the current system often leaves families behind due to high costs and limited access to qualified professionals. We are changing that narrative by using proprietary technology to make evaluations faster, more affordable, and highly accessible. As a rapidly growing startup supported by mission-driven venture capital firms and education non-profits, we invite you to help us build a future where every student receives the support they need to succeed.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure to join our team in a full-time capacity. As our first dedicated infrastructure specialist, you will be instrumental in evolving our platform into a sophisticated SaaS solution. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure infrastructure that empowers clinicians and psychologists to deliver impactful care through our AI-powered tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of our infrastructure strategy by designing, deploying, and maintaining reliable systems that support our growing customer base.
- Partner closely with our product, design, and operations teams to identify technical opportunities and ensure our engineering solutions meet real-world user needs.
- Champion technical excellence across the organization by leading engineering design reviews and shaping our long-term infrastructure roadmap.
Requirements
- Significant experience in software engineering, specifically regarding cloud-based infrastructure design and deployment.
- Strong proficiency in automation and scripting with Python, alongside hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Deep technical knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven background working with major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure to build performant systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry and Prometheus.
- A commitment to security best practices and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
Location
This position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere.

- The flexibility of remote work.
- An inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
- The opportunity to work on a mission-driven product that has a direct, positive impact on the lives of students and educators.
