Pathpoint is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team with a dedicated focus on our infrastructure. We are modernizing the 160 billion dollar Excess and Surplus Lines insurance market by creating a digital trading exchange that replaces manual, inefficient processes with a seamless experience for carriers and brokerages. As a fully remote organization, we prioritize a culture that empowers our team members to work from wherever they are most productive. We are looking for someone who is eager to help us define best practices and build a thriving, remote-first environment.
Key outcomes
- Develop and maintain robust cloud infrastructure that serves as a reliable foundation for our services and applications.
- Implement comprehensive observability across our entire technology stack, including frontend, backend, and core services.
- Manage and optimize continuous testing and deployment pipelines to ensure rapid development cycles while maintaining high quality and stability.
- Take ownership of complex features and bug fixes, delivering high-quality code through independent problem-solving.
- Elevate the standards of our engineering team by performing thorough code reviews.
- Support our growth by participating in the hiring process and conducting technical interviews.
- Partner with application engineering teams to ensure our platform acts as a force multiplier for their goals rather than a bottleneck.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience working within high-performing software engineering teams.
- Extensive experience with AWS, specifically using CloudFormation to manage services like ECS, Fargate, RDS, and SQS.
- The ability to operate as a dedicated infrastructure lead, including the capacity to plan and execute a technical roadmap independently.
- A strong background in building distributed web services and complex service layers.
- Proficiency in English and the legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- A pragmatic mindset, strong critical thinking skills, and a genuine interest in understanding the nuances of the insurance industry.
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on experience with our core tooling, including Docker, Datadog, GitHub Actions, and Auth0.
- Technical proficiency in Golang, SQL (Postgres), and Node.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, GraphQL, and React.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional and personal well-being. This includes:
- Competitive salary and equity options.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage and paid parental leave.
- 401k retirement planning.
- Flexible vacation and time-off policies.
- A home office budget, including an annual stipend for equipment and monthly allowances for internet and dining expenses.
