We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join our core team at Skydance New Media. Founded by industry veterans Amy Hennig and Julian Beak, our studio focuses on creating high-quality, story-driven action-adventure games that bridge the gap between cinema and interactive entertainment, such as our upcoming title, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain game systems within Unreal Engine 5.
Drive technical solutions for industry-leading challenges while sharing your development best practices.
Refine our world-building processes, specifically regarding Data Layers and World Partition.
Promote asset hygiene to ensure high performance in the Unreal Editor and maintain team velocity.
Develop features, tools, and debug functionality to support our narrative goals.
Collaborate across disciplines with artists, animators, and designers.
Perform generalist tasks such as profiling, optimization, middleware integration, and localization as needed.

Must-haves

At least 10 years of professional programming experience with a track record of taking a large game through all production stages.
Proven experience shipping at least one product using Unreal Engine.
Expert-level C++ skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
A history of owning systems and features throughout the game development lifecycle.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and self-driven mindset.
A commitment to high-quality results and a willingness to innovate.
Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to California, British Columbia, or Alberta.

Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 – $220,000, depending on your location, experience, and expertise.
