Senior Software Engineer II, Toolpath Algorithms at Dandy

What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to focus on Toolpath Algorithms. This is a full-time, remote position that is open to candidates anywhere. As a senior member of our team, you will act as a key architect for our manufacturing strategy, helping us automate complex tasks that currently require manual labor.

What will you do?

• Lead the creation of advanced toolpath algorithms that serve as the engine for our next-generation dental lab automation.
• Design and implement hybrid manufacturing workflows that combine additive and subtractive processes, such as 3D printing and precision milling.
• Develop robotic control mechanisms to automate high-dexterity tasks, ensuring our software and hardware work together seamlessly for efficient production.

What makes you a great fit?

You are a software engineer at heart who enjoys solving complex problems from the ground up. We are looking for someone who brings the following to the table:

• Strong proficiency in C++, Python, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC or 6DoF robotic integration, with a track record of seeing your code operate physical machinery.
• Deep knowledge of computational geometry, 3D concepts, and mesh processing using tools like Three.js, WebGL, WebGPU, or ROS.
• A 0 to 1 mindset, meaning you thrive in startup environments where you can define the roadmap and architectural direction.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
• A willingness to travel up to 30 percent of the time to collaborate on-site at our manufacturing locations.
