Sumo Logic is a leader in the cloud-native analytics space, providing a SaaS platform that helps businesses ensure the reliability and security of their applications. We empower developers and practitioners to gain deep insights into their infrastructure, protecting them against modern security threats. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Release Engineering team. This is a full-time, remote position available to candidates located anywhere in India. You will play a vital role in our internal Platform-as-a-Service strategy by building the automated tooling and delivery pipelines that allow our teams to deploy services independently and efficiently.
Key outcomes
- Take ownership of the delivery pipeline and the release automation framework used across all Sumo Logic services.
- Collaborate with and educate internal teams during the design and development phases to promote engineering best practices.
- Provide mentorship to engineers of all levels while actively improving our internal software development processes.
- Assess new technologies and provide strategic design recommendations to our executive leadership team.
- Produce comprehensive design documentation and implementation guides to ensure system clarity.
- Ensure that our engineering organization is equipped to deliver high-quality software with speed and reliability.
- Maintain and enhance the infrastructure and tooling required for effective development, testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience designing and developing release automation, DevOps, and CI/CD tooling.
- A minimum of 2 years of software development experience using languages such as Java, Scala, or Golang.
- 3+ years of experience with software delivery technologies, including Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline development, and build tools like Gradle, Make, or npm.
- Proficiency with cloud technologies, specifically AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform.
- Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Prometheus or Grafana.
- An understanding of GitOps workflows and ArgoCD, as well as the security and compliance principles inherent in DevSecOps.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence architectural decisions and foster a collaborative environment.
- A bias for action and the flexibility to adapt to new approaches as our technology evolves.
- Fluency in English.
