At Finch, we are building a unified API to connect the global employment ecosystem and empower innovators. As a Series B company backed by industry leaders from firms like General Catalyst and Menlo Ventures, we are looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer who is curious, self-driven, and ready to solve complex problems at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust services that power our data presentation layer.
- Lead product expansion efforts, including greenfield development and scaling existing integrations.
- Ensure our services meet high standards for security, performance, and reliability.
- Manage large-scale initiatives by defining problems, scoping engineering requirements, and executing solutions across multiple teams.
- Maintain a high velocity of delivery by deploying code daily.
- Write scalable, testable, and maintainable code while debugging issues across the stack using modern observability tools.
- Champion our core values of empathy, execution, humility, and curiosity.
Must-haves
- At least 7 years of backend development experience, ideally within a start-up environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with TypeScript.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects in ambiguous environments.
- Strong expertise in NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Deep understanding of system design, data modeling, and distributed systems.
- Commitment to testing best practices, specifically TDD.
- Proficiency with Git and API development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
- Experience working in a remote-first or hybrid professional setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with various API authentication methods, particularly OAuth.
- Experience working with Chakra UI.
- A strong interest in deep-diving into network traffic and browser developer tools.
