Are you ready to innovate within the financial technology sector and help millions of people improve their financial well-being? Since our founding in 2005 as the first peer-to-peer lending platform in the United States, we have facilitated over $25 billion in loans. We are looking for passionate, creative individuals to join our team and help us continue democratizing finance through our diverse range of products, including personal loans and home equity lines of credit.
What you bring
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is a hybrid position, requiring you to be in our San Francisco or Phoenix offices on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will be part of an interdisciplinary scrum team where you will focus on building large-scale systems, with a workload split approximately 70% toward backend development and 30% toward frontend tasks. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing and constructing highly scalable, resilient, and cloud-native microservices using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot.
- Collaborating with cross-functional product and analytics teams to lead strategic initiatives and address operational challenges at scale.
- Proactively identifying system gaps and implementing robust solutions to migrate services to GCP while utilizing GraphQL and React for frontend components.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in computer science, including expertise in algorithms, object-oriented programming, and distributed systems architecture. You should hold a BS in EE/CS with at least 8 years of experience, or an MS in a relevant discipline with 6 or more years of experience. We are looking for someone with hands-on proficiency in Java, REST APIs, and event-driven systems, as well as experience working with both relational and non-relational databases. You should be comfortable with GCP cloud-native architectures and have a solid grasp of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Beyond technical skills, we value candidates who demonstrate ownership, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment.
What we offer
We provide a dynamic work environment where you will collaborate with experienced industry leaders on products that make a tangible difference in our customers' lives. Our benefits package is designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being:
- Hybrid work arrangements to support work-life balance.
- Flexible time off and paid parental leave.
- Comprehensive health coverage.
- Wellness resources, including mental health support and virtual fitness classes.
- Additional perks such as Udemy access, childcare assistance, pet insurance discounts, and legal assistance.
How to Apply
If you are a motivated engineer who is eager to challenge the status quo and contribute to a culture of innovation, we would love to hear from you. We encourage you to apply even if your background does not perfectly align with every requirement listed, as we value the unique perspectives that each new team member brings to our mission. Please submit your application to join our growing team and help us shape the future of fintech.
