Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack at Onebrief

Key outcomes

• Design, develop, and maintain systems across our entire stack, including frontend interfaces, backend services, databases, and infrastructure.
• Participate in a squad-based model, moving fluidly between teams to address the most critical priorities and ramping up quickly in new domains.
• Enhance and optimize our core systems, such as our authentication flows, data models, and API layers.
• Proactively diagnose and resolve issues related to performance, security, reliability, and scalability within our production environments.
• Collaborate on long-term architectural strategy and product development.
• Implement robust observability, monitoring, and auditing practices across our systems.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and speed, while helping to define team standards for their effective use.
• Maintain a balance between high-velocity delivery and long-term engineering excellence.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Full-stack fluency with the ability to work across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers as needed.
• A solid understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and API design principles, including REST and GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization tools such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• The ability to thrive in a fluid environment, context-switch effectively, and contribute immediately to new projects.
• Active and proficient use of AI coding tools to treat technology as a force multiplier.
• Strong communication skills, specifically the ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs.
• A proven track record of taking ownership and delivering complex projects in fast-paced settings.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with incident response and observability stacks, including tracing, metrics, and logging.
• A background working within high-compliance or mission-critical domains, such as FedRAMP, SOC2, HIPAA, or Department of Defense environments.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, microservices, and tools like Kafka.
• Prior experience leading system design decisions for high-scale, complex platforms.
• Knowledge of access control patterns and authentication protocols like OIDC, SAML, or OAuth 2.0.
