Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Customer & Data at Tyro

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. At Tyro, we operate as more than just a bank. Since our launch in 2003, we have grown into Australia’s largest EFTPOS provider outside the major banks, supporting thousands of businesses with innovative payment and banking solutions. As a member of our Product Technology team, you will help us shape the future of commerce for Australian businesses while working in a hybrid environment based out of our Sydney office.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable code while providing mentorship to other engineers on the team.
• Manage the entire software delivery lifecycle, from initial planning and development through to production deployment.
• Advocate for high standards in performance, security, and reliability while collaborating with product managers and designers to execute our technical vision.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in software engineering and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Proven experience working with object-oriented languages such as Java, Kotlin, or NodeJS.
• Solid proficiency in modern web technologies, specifically JavaScript and ReactJS.
• Extensive experience with cloud-based development and DevOps practices, including AWS services like ECS, ECR, and S3.
• A deep understanding of back-end architecture, API development, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams within an Agile environment.
