Eikon Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical pioneer that sits at the unique intersection of biology, engineering, and computation. Founded on the work of a 2014 Nobel Prize laureate, we have developed proprietary microscopes that capture real-time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells. By unlocking protein classes that were previously considered impossible to target, we are creating a new paradigm for drug discovery and life-saving treatments. We are looking for a passionate, creative engineer to join our growing team and help us push the boundaries of what is possible in medicine.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on Dynamical Inference. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the United States. You will be a foundational member of our team, working closely with an interdisciplinary group of scientists and engineers to build the computational tools that turn our high-content imaging data into actionable insights for drug discovery.
Your impact
- Collaborate with biologists and microscopists to understand the underlying science and design algorithms that extract and quantify meaningful information from our proprietary imaging hardware.
- Manage the full technical lifecycle of your software solutions, taking them from initial proof-of-concept through to production-ready tools.
- Balance multiple concurrent projects, setting clear milestones and communicating your progress effectively across the organization.
What you'll need
- A degree in Computational Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Biophysics, or a related field, combined with relevant professional experience.
- At least two years of experience writing Python code, with bonus points for proficiency in a strongly typed language like C++.
- A solid grasp of stochastic processes, probability, variational Bayesian approaches, and modern machine learning techniques such as graph neural networks.
- Proven ability to analyze scientific datasets and work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including version control and testing.
- Strong communication skills in English and a flexible, team-oriented mindset.
- An enthusiasm for learning the nuances of drug discovery and a willingness to work in a hybrid capacity.
Perks and compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $169,000 to $193,000, depending on your specific expertise and market demand. In addition to base pay, we offer bonus and equity compensation alongside a comprehensive benefits package:

- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Life and AD&D insurance.
- Mental wellness budget.
- Generous paid time off and holiday policies, including summer and winter shutdowns.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
- Hybrid work environment with a daily subsidized lunch program when on-site.
