Senior Software Engineer - Data Team at Rockerbox

Rockerbox helps marketing teams make confident, data-driven decisions by consolidating complex marketing data into a single, accessible platform. We support major brands like Tula, Figs, and Burton, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Data team to help us scale our infrastructure and refine our data warehousing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of scalable, resilient, and cost-effective data pipelines.
• Provide architectural guidance and conduct design and code reviews to ensure high standards of quality.
• Act as our internal SQL expert while mentoring team members on query optimization.
• Implement robust monitoring, automated testing, and quality control measures to maintain data integrity.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to improve our overall engineering efficiency.

Must-haves

• At least 10 years of experience in data engineering, specifically with cloud technologies, pipelines, and data warehouses.
• Deep expertise in data modeling and architectural trade-offs between data lakes and distributed warehouses.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Proven ability to design both real-time and batch data pipelines with complex transformation requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of managing large-scale projects and mentoring fellow engineers.
• A product-focused mindset that prioritizes business needs and scalable solutions.
• Fluency in English.

The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $195,000, determined based on your experience level.
