About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cluster to Cluster Synchronization team on a full-time basis. This role is remote and focuses on the development of mongosync, a critical tool designed to make database migrations, backups, and disaster recovery simple and reliable for our users. You will play a key role in helping customers transition their workloads to MongoDB Atlas while contributing to the broader ecosystem of MongoDB database tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build mongosync to provide seamless database migration and synchronization capabilities for both cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop and maintain the MongoDB Database Tools, which include essential CLI utilities for diagnostics, importing, and exporting data.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to solve complex challenges in distributed systems, including data replication, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should bring the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining industrial-strength software.
- Proven experience working with distributed systems, specifically regarding data replication, transactions, and system scalability.
- Strong background in building databases or core components for data processing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one compiled language and a strong interest in working with Go.
- Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to mentor junior engineers and interns.
- A curious mindset and the ability to quickly master new domains within computer science.

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $118,000 to $218,000 USD. In addition to base pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your professional and personal well-being, including:
