Welcome to Siteline. We are a Series A SaaS startup on a mission to modernize finance for the construction industry. While this sector employs one out of every ten workers, it has historically lacked the software tools necessary to keep up with modern business. We are changing that by streamlining the billing process, helping contractors get paid faster, and allowing them to focus on building rather than paperwork. Our team of 28 is spread across the U.S. and Canada, and we are looking for passionate people to help us grow.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend and infrastructure team. This is a full-time position that requires a senior level of experience. Because we value deep collaboration, this role is based in our San Francisco headquarters, where our engineering team works together in the office 3 to 4 days a week.
What will you do?
- Technical Leadership: You will help shape our technical direction, set engineering standards, and ensure our codebase remains high-quality and reliable as we scale.
- Systems and Infrastructure: You will own the evolution of our backend stack, designing data models and infrastructure that can handle our growing customer base while maintaining peak performance.
- Product Development: You will collaborate with our product team to architect and ship new features, focusing primarily on the backend and API layers while maintaining a holistic view of the user experience.
What makes you a great fit?
We are looking for someone with 4 to 6 years of professional software experience who has a track record of scaling complex backend systems. You should be comfortable working with Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, and Postgres. Beyond technical skills, we value:
- Resourcefulness: You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can make forward progress even when requirements are not fully defined.
- Communication: You are an empathetic listener who can explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.
- Growth Mindset: You are eager to learn, open to feedback, and ready to mentor others as we build our culture together.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive salary range of $168,000 to $200,000 USD annually, depending on your experience. In addition to salary, you will receive the following benefits:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our success.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Unlimited paid time off with an encouraged three-week annual minimum.
- A $1,000 annual learning stipend for your professional development.
- Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely when not in the office.
