Are you ready to help shape the future of healthcare by building the data systems that power AI-driven medical insights at scale?
What you bring
We are a venture-backed company that raised $46M in Series B funding in late 2022. Our mission is to use AI to understand and structure the world’s medical data, beginning with the terabytes of clinician notes inside the electronic health records of the largest health systems. We automate the translation of patient records into billing codes, a process that currently costs U.S. hospitals more than $15 billion each year. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Data) on a Full Time basis to join our remote team and help us expand the data products at the core of our work. You will bring Senior experience and a strong command of Technology, Healthcare, AI, Data Pipelines, Hadoop, Spark, Machine Learning, NLP, Python, Data Structures, Systems Design, Database Management, and Cloud Computing. Three main responsibilities include developing data infrastructure to ingest, sanitize, and normalize medical data from sources such as electronic health records, journals, and medical ontologies; building performant and expressive interfaces to that data; and creating infrastructure that supports both large-scale data ingest and cloud-based machine learning. The role is fully remote and open to candidates located Anywhere.
Requirements
We are looking for teammates who combine deep technical skill with clear communication and a collaborative mindset. You will need at least five years of software engineering experience in a production environment, solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and systems design, and hands-on experience building data pipelines from disparate sources. You should also have experience scaling compute clusters and a strong grasp of databases and large-scale processing frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark, along with the judgment to choose the right tools for each task. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a STEM field, or an equivalent area of study is required. The ideal candidate is comfortable designing systems that integrate, train, and test dozens of data sources under a unified ontology, and they bring both creative and analytical strengths to complex engineering challenges. Proficiency in English is essential.
What we offer
We provide a salary range of $175,000 USD to $220,000 USD along with company equity. Additional benefits include remote work flexibility, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401k matching, a $1,500 USD home office budget, and company retreats.
