The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend team and help shape our core computation engine. This engine is the heartbeat of our platform, powering everything from inventory simulations and forecasting to recommendation systems. As we help our customers process data for hundreds of thousands of products across vast global networks, scalability is our primary focus. You will play a vital role in designing the architecture that allows our clients to turn massive datasets into actionable insights.

A day in the life

• You will design, develop, and optimize our computation engine and data platform to ensure our forecasting and simulation tools remain fast and reliable.
• You will lead the architectural design of complex software solutions, ensuring our systems stay robust as we continue to scale.
• You will collaborate closely with our product team and fellow engineers to translate customer needs into high-performance, maintainable code.

Who you are

You are a problem-solver who loves diving into algorithms, data structures, and software architecture. You thrive in a flat organization where transparency is the norm, and you enjoy mentoring others through code reviews and design documentation. You are comfortable working with multiple programming languages and are always curious to learn more.

Our ideal candidate brings the following experience and skills:

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, specifically with complex systems or query engines.
• Strong proficiency in JVM-based languages like Java, Scala, or Kotlin, with bonus points for Python or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with database and data warehouse technologies such as PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and the challenges of building distributed, scalable data systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
