At Pearl Health, we are dedicated to restoring the joy and independence of practicing medicine for doctors across the United States. Our healthcare system has placed heavy administrative burdens on physicians, often distracting them from their primary goal of caring for patients. By combining the expertise of clinicians from institutions like Harvard and Stanford with technologists from companies like Apple and Amazon, we are building tools that empower primary care providers to deliver better outcomes. With the support of investors like Andreessen Horowitz and a strategic partnership with Walgreens, we are creating an intelligent marketplace that brings humanism back to healthcare.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position for an engineer who is eager to take ownership of our future state architecture. You will be instrumental in helping us transition from our current systems while building robust data pipelines and API layers that directly support our mission to improve the primary care experience.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable serverless infrastructure to transform and vend critical healthcare data to our platform.
- Develop efficient data projections and storage solutions while maintaining high standards for security and data privacy.
- Collaborate closely with product teams, data scientists, and user experience experts to translate complex requirements into reliable technical solutions.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who brings a deep sense of curiosity and a methodical approach to engineering. Your background should include:
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development within a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with PySpark.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable API development strategies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures.
- A solid grasp of data security and privacy standards, particularly within regulated industries.
- Experience with a full range of testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $180,000. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and the flexibility of a remote work environment.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using technology to solve systemic challenges in healthcare and want to help us build a more human-centered future for doctors and patients, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our mission-driven team.
