Senior Software Engineer Backend Development at Appier

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our backend team in Taiwan on a full-time, on-site basis to help us continue building platforms that bridge the gap between complex data and our users.

What you'll be doing

• You will take ownership of major engineering projects, designing scalable backend architectures and driving the technical roadmap for our services.
• You will provide technical leadership by mentoring junior team members, conducting thorough code reviews, and guiding the team through complex development processes.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate agile workflows, improve our production operational standards, and ensure the reliability of our systems through active participation in on-call rotations.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of professional software development experience. We value proactive problem-solvers who can communicate effectively and work well with others. Your technical background should include the following:

• Proficiency in at least one of these languages: Python, Scala, Go, Java, or C++.
• Strong experience building web services on Linux and a solid understanding of network API design, such as REST or GraphQL.
• Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, along with experience using Git for version control.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience in leadership roles, specifically in mentoring others and managing agile processes.

We also highly value candidates who have experience designing large-scale distributed systems, working with high-performance network services, and utilizing profiling or debugging tools. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, as is expertise in areas like CI/CD, monitoring systems, or data-intensive application design.
