We are Tubi, a premium ad-supported video-on-demand service under Fox Corporation that provides free access to over 50,000 movies and television shows. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in China to help us scale our distributed systems and enhance the streaming experience for our global audience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain robust distributed systems using Elixir.
- Design high-performance, scalable architectures that support our streaming and advertising infrastructure.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth integration of various system components.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Provide technical mentorship to other engineers regarding system design and development.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and offer constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the production environment.
- Stay current with the latest developments in Elixir and related frameworks.
- Help establish and refine our internal engineering best practices and standards.
Must-haves
- A bachelor's degree or higher, with at least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Deep expertise in Elixir, Erlang, and OTP, though we are open to candidates who are eager to learn these technologies.
- Proven experience in designing and building reliable, high-scale applications.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and containerization.
- Proficiency with database technologies, specifically PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work independently and effectively within a distributed team.
- Fluency in English.
