We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of kindness, resourcefulness, and technical mastery, and we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our hybrid team in Canada.

Key outcomes

  • Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from scoping and design to final release.
  • Lead the development of specific features while coordinating and delegating tasks within your project team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to team members and maintaining high standards through rigorous code reviews.
  • Engage directly with clients to discuss technical requirements, answer questions, and ensure project success.
  • Write maintainable, well-documented, and testable code while establishing necessary test frameworks.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal processes and best practices.
  • Plan and estimate project schedules accurately while fostering a highly productive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience working with object-oriented programming in Java or C++.
  • Strong proficiency in the software development lifecycle and project management principles.
  • Proven ability to estimate development requirements and present technical ideas in a collaborative setting.
  • Experience developing software across Windows and macOS environments, with Linux experience being a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a genuine passion for solving complex technical challenges.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Practical experience with performance analysis tools and memory management.
  • Background in Big Data or NoSQL technologies.
  • Experience building database connectivity solutions.
  • Familiarity with authentication and access technologies, including OAuth, SAML, LDAP, or SSO.
  • Proficiency in additional backend programming languages.
