Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Perchwell

As a senior-level Site Reliability Engineer, you will join our team in New York City to strengthen our technical foundation and drive our infrastructure strategy forward as we continue to scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions within AWS.
• Manage and evolve our Kubernetes strategy to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with our Quality team to refine CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments.
• Develop self-service tools using Terraform and automation to empower product teams.
• Champion observability by managing our monitoring systems and setting engineering best practices.
• Lead incident management and disaster recovery efforts to maintain system resiliency.
• Partner with FinOps to identify cost-optimization strategies across our infrastructure.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support our production environments.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of dedicated experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive background in distributed systems and cloud architecture.
• Deep proficiency with AWS services including EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, and IAM.
• Strong expertise in orchestrating and scaling Kubernetes clusters.
• Proven ability to write automation tools using languages such as Python or Golang.
• A track record of systems thinking and solving complex, cross-boundary technical problems.
• Fluency in English and authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience with event-driven system designs and messaging technologies like Kafka or Nats.
• Background in security frameworks and hardening production environments.
• Knowledge of various database architectures and scaling Elasticsearch.
• Experience working within the Ruby on Rails ecosystem.

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $170,000 to $230,000 per year, supplemented by equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
