Key outcomes
- Lead security engineering initiatives across our infrastructure, including managing vulnerability tooling and enforcing robust security controls.
- Ensure our AWS environment, managed through Terraform, remains hardened and audit-ready for our tier 1 financial partners.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive threat intelligence program that addresses external risks, incident response, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with our senior engineering team to influence our overall hosting strategy and technical architecture.
- Proactively address the evolving security landscape, specifically regarding the integration and risks associated with AI technologies.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience, with 3 to 5 years specifically in a dedicated security engineering role such as AppSec or Security Engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in AWS and Terraform, with the ability to manage network security, encryption, and access controls effectively.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Ruby.
- A strong aptitude for troubleshooting complex problems, analyzing logs, and utilizing diagnostic tools to identify root causes.
- Comfort working within an ambiguous environment where you can contribute to high-level architectural decisions.
- A commitment to quality, testing, and security-first development practices.
- Previous experience in a startup environment is highly preferred.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience working within the financial technology sector, particularly in areas related to fraud detection or regulatory compliance.
