Senior Security Engineer at Human Interest

What is this role?

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. As a senior member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in designing secure software practices and collaborating with stakeholders to improve our overall security posture.

What will you do?

• Foster a DevSecOps culture across the company by utilizing education, automation, and specialized tooling.
• Secure our software development lifecycle by implementing automated checks directly into our pipelines.
• Perform detailed security reviews of application code and participate in on-call rotations to monitor and respond to security events.

You are an experienced engineer who is passionate about building practical, secure solutions. You have a deep understanding of security fundamentals and enjoy mentoring others to elevate the security culture of the entire organization. To be successful in this role, you should have:

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a security-focused engineering role.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, Python, or Golang.
• Practical, hands-on experience securing cloud environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
