The role
We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Threat Detection to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will lead the development and expansion of our threat detection and intelligence program. You will play a vital role in protecting our InsurTech products and ensuring the safety of our customers and their data.
Core responsibilities
- Develop and maintain proactive threat detection capabilities within our SIEM, correlating logs from various sources to identify and neutralize potential threats.
- Build and manage SOAR playbooks and automation workflows to scale our security operations and improve incident response efficiency.
- Collaborate with product development teams to understand application architectures and infrastructure, ensuring the design of effective, targeted detection rules.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in cybersecurity and a passion for threat intelligence. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Six to eight years of experience in cybersecurity, including at least three years specifically focused on threat hunting, detection, and intelligence.
- Proven expertise with SIEM platforms and SOAR tools, including the ability to create playbooks and automation.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud security, application architecture, and infrastructure platforms.
- Deep familiarity with industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical security findings into actionable business insights.
- Relevant professional certifications such as GCIH, OSEP, OSCP, eCTHP, or CCTIA.
Compensation and benefits
