Our research and development team is currently looking for a Senior Scientist to join us at our facility in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a vital part in discovering and characterizing new insecticidal proteins by utilizing advanced cellular and molecular techniques. You will be at the forefront of innovation, helping us understand protein-target interactions to develop the next generation of crop protection solutions.

Key outcomes

• Maintain insect cell cultures to ensure they grow under optimal conditions while strictly controlling for contamination.
• Manage protein production by utilizing baculovirus expression systems.
• Design, optimize, and execute cell binding assays to better understand how proteins interact with their targets.
• Conduct confocal microscopy and perform detailed image analysis.
• Apply rigorous statistical methods to interpret complex data sets.
• Work alongside cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve project goals.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior members of the scientific team.
• Keep thorough laboratory records and create standardized protocols for the team to follow.
• Share your research findings with internal stakeholders to drive project development.
• Identify and introduce new methodologies to enhance our overall research capabilities.
• Contribute your expertise to experimental design and long-term research strategy.
• Engage in active troubleshooting to resolve technical hurdles and create innovative solutions.

Requirements
