Welcome to AQEMIA, a next-generation pharmatech company dedicated to transforming how we discover new medicines. We use a unique blend of quantum-inspired physics and generative AI to design innovative drug candidates for critical diseases like immuno-oncology, all without needing to rely on experimental data. Our work has already led to significant successes in our internal pipeline and through major partnerships with top pharmaceutical firms. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our mission and help us push the boundaries of what is possible in drug discovery.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Scientific Software Developer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position based in France, and we operate with a hybrid work model. In this role, you will be a key part of our computational team, helping to build and optimize the tools that drive our drug discovery projects forward.
What will you do?
- Design and implement computational workflows for virtual screening, molecular property prediction, and compound library creation.
- Work alongside our AI and medicinal chemistry experts to integrate advanced algorithms into our drug discovery pipelines.
- Enhance and maintain our internal chemoinformatics infrastructure to ensure our tools remain scalable, reliable, and highly efficient.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in both science and software development. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in chemoinformatics, specifically with molecular modeling, virtual screening, and library design using tools like RDKit.
- High proficiency in Python and a proven ability to build scalable, reproducible computational pipelines.
- Strong skills in data analysis and visualization, allowing you to interpret complex findings clearly.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical cheminformatics concepts and the needs of medicinal chemists and AI specialists.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine drive to contribute to our mission of developing life-saving treatments.
What's in it for you?
Joining AQEMIA means becoming part of a fast-growing, well-funded DeepTech company that is recognized as part of the French Tech 120. You will work in an international environment alongside a brilliant, interdisciplinary team. Our benefits include:
- Hybrid work flexibility.
- The opportunity to make a tangible impact on a rapidly expanding drug discovery pipeline.
- Collaboration with top-tier pharmaceutical partners.
- Support for relocation and French language lessons if needed.
