At Parallel Domain, we create advanced simulation technology that helps companies build safer autonomous systems such as self-driving cars and delivery drones. Our platform generates realistic sensor data so customers can test and refine their AI before real-world deployment, shortening development cycles and improving reliability at scale.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Rendering Engineer on a full-time basis. In this position you will design, build, and optimize the real-time rendering systems that power our sensor-simulation platform, ensuring the generated data accurately reflects real-world camera, LiDAR, and radar inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ongoing development of our real-time sensor simulation rendering stack, from architecture decisions through production deployment.
- Partner with content and pipeline teams to integrate new graphics techniques that raise the fidelity and performance of our simulation environment.
- Set the technical roadmap for sensor simulation, creating systems that directly support the training and validation of computer-vision models used in autonomous vehicles.
Requirements
- Five to eight years of professional experience building and shipping complex, high-performance software in C++.
- Deep expertise in real-time rendering, including advanced lighting models, shading pipelines, and performance optimization.
- Strong command of 3D mathematics, linear algebra, and the numerical methods that underpin physically based simulation.
- Proven ability to take ownership of large-scale graphics projects and guide them from concept to release.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly and cross-team collaboration is essential.
Location
Most of the team works in a hybrid arrangement from our Vancouver, British Columbia office. We also welcome fully office-based or remote candidates who can align with core hours and travel to Vancouver when needed. Relocation support is available for those who choose to move to the area.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hybrid work flexibility with options for fully remote or office-based arrangements.
- Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, including mental-health coverage.
- Flexible paid time off, sick leave, an annual winter shutdown, and more than eleven paid holidays each year.
- Paid parental leave.
- Annual learning and development stipend plus an equipment budget to support an optimal home or office setup.
