The role
We are seeking a Senior R&D Food Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in Massillon, Ohio, that focuses on the development and commercialization of new salty snack flavors and seasonings. You will serve as a technical leader, working across departments to optimize products and processes while ensuring our snacks meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of seasonings by managing projects with external vendors to meet our productivity and sales objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and procurement, to troubleshoot processing challenges and implement technical solutions.
- Execute comprehensive product formulation plans, including conducting plant trials and maintaining rigorous documentation for new ingredients and technologies.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Between 7 and 10 years of experience in consumer food product development, specifically within innovation platforms and formulation design.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, TraceGains, and nutritional labeling tools like Genesis.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, data analysis, and navigating regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience working within a stage-gate development process and a willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support plant trials and supplier meetings.
