What is this role?

We are looking for a Senior Rails Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a senior-level position for an expert in Ruby on Rails and modern web development. You will be expected to own the technical design for complex features, mentor other engineers, and contribute to our high standards of code quality. What will you do?

• Take full ownership of complex projects by deconstructing problems into actionable plans, gathering feedback on architectural designs, and making final decisions as the project lead.
• Contribute to the definition of user stories by focusing on the tangible value and impact our platform provides to drivers and organizers.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing, while actively participating in our on-call rotation and maintaining the health of our production environment.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a high level of professional maturity. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3 or more years of hands-on work with Ruby on Rails.
• Advanced proficiency in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• A proven track record of managing projects of increasing complexity and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• A deep sense of craftsmanship regarding your code and a genuine connection to our mission of improving lives through mobility.
