About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Python Scraping / Anti-Bot Engineer on a full-time basis. In this remote UK role you will design, build, and operate large-scale scraping systems that reliably collect data from Google and similarly protected environments. The position blends data engineering, reverse engineering, and systems reliability, and you will help us maintain the accuracy and timeliness of the data our clients depend on.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain large-scale Python scraping systems that operate reliably against Google and other highly defended websites.
• Build scrapers for dynamic, JavaScript-heavy pages using browser automation and hybrid approaches while continuously adapting to changes in page structure and anti-automation mechanisms.
• Implement proxy, fingerprinting, and request-routing strategies, monitor scrape health, and optimise performance, cost, and latency across the scraping infrastructure.

Requirements

To succeed in this role you will bring:

• Several years of professional experience building production-grade scraping systems in Python or another primary language such as Go, Rust, or JavaScript.
• Deep, hands-on experience scraping Google or similarly protected platforms, including a solid understanding of HTTP, TLS, cookies, headers, and browser networking behaviour.
• Practical experience with Playwright, Selenium, Puppeteer, or equivalent browser-automation frameworks, along with strong knowledge of HTML parsing, DOM traversal, and data-extraction techniques.
• Proven ability to handle rate limiting, CAPTCHA, IP rotation, and bot-detection systems, and to work comfortably with asynchronous and concurrent scraping architectures at cloud scale.
• Strong debugging skills and experience with headless-browser fingerprinting and anti-bot evasion techniques.

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, distributed task systems, data-quality monitoring, or search and competitive-intelligence data is advantageous but not required.
