The opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join our engineering team, which serves as the heart of our operations. In this role, you will build the sophisticated applications that our Fortune 500 customers rely on to make critical sourcing decisions, as well as the internal tools our researchers use to manage massive data sets. You will have complete ownership over architectural designs and solutions, helping us evolve our platform to track metrics like biodiversity impact and carbon emissions. While we work in a complex domain, you do not need prior sustainability experience to thrive here. We are looking for empathetic, mission-driven engineers who are eager to solve challenging problems at scale.

A day in the life

• Collaborate closely with our Product and Research teams to design and implement new features, including advanced metric calculations and improved data storage solutions.
• Take full responsibility for the end-to-end lifecycle of features, moving from initial concept and architectural planning through to final deployment.
• Champion our engineering standards by writing clean, well-tested code and thorough documentation, while actively contributing new ideas to improve our team culture.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer who values clarity, testing, and documentation as much as performance. You communicate effectively with both your peers and senior leadership, and you are comfortable working in a remote-first environment. Your background includes:

• At least 4 years of professional experience working with Python or Django in a production environment.
• Strong proficiency in building and maintaining REST APIs.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git and Docker for development and deployment workflows.
• Professional fluency in English.
