We are Runwise, a rapidly expanding climate-tech company dedicated to transforming how energy is managed in over 7,500 buildings across the United States. By combining unique hardware with sophisticated software, we help property owners reduce energy costs and minimize carbon output, effectively removing the equivalent of 80,000 cars from the road annually. We are currently seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful technology that directly improves building efficiency and tenant comfort.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Python applications that power our building control computers, which execute complex climate algorithms and process live sensor data.
- Write robust, multithreaded Python code to handle incoming data streams and make intelligent, real-time decisions for building systems.
- Design and implement efficient software solutions capable of processing billions of data points every year.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing multithreaded applications using Python.
- Proven ability to modify and enhance features within large-scale software systems.
- A strong passion for building products that drive energy efficiency and working with systems operating at a massive scale.

What we offer
