We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity, working from our London office near Monument two days per week.
Key outcomes
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python.
- Build scalable solutions utilizing Pydantic, AWS Lambda, and microservices architecture.
- Manage structured data through MySQL relational databases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers and product managers, to deliver high-quality platform features.
- Ensure system reliability by writing and maintaining comprehensive unit and integration tests with Pytest.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and support deployment automation to enhance our development lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and evaluate new technologies to support platform scalability.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in Python development for backend web applications.
- Proficiency with Pydantic, type annotation, and modern Python development practices.
- Proven experience working with relational databases, specifically MySQL.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to software quality, including unit testing and clean code.
- A proactive, pragmatic approach to problem-solving and technical challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, remote-friendly environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Practical experience with AI frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and broader DevOps practices.
- Prior experience within the insurance industry or developing insurance-related software.
- Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS, and Apache Camel.
Compensation
