At Swave, we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the augmented reality space. As a fabless semiconductor company based in Leuven, Belgium, we are dedicated to pioneering holographic technology that sits at the intersection of optics, semiconductors, and complex systems design. We are a team of passionate engineers and industry leaders who value authenticity, trust, and a bias for action. We are currently looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our growing team and help us drive the development of our disruptive AR display technology from silicon to software.
About the Role
This is a full-time, hybrid position where you will serve as the technical nexus between our engineering vision and final delivery. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that our complex engineering projects remain on track, managing technical dependencies, and facilitating seamless communication across our domain leads and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with domain leads to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and technical specifications while ensuring engineering teams have clear objectives.
- Proactively identify technical bottlenecks and risks, propose effective mitigation strategies, and provide regular status reports on project health to leadership.
- Act as the primary owner of our project management tools, such as Jira, while implementing practical, lightweight processes that foster a culture of accountability and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical background and a proven ability to manage high-tech hardware projects. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- At least 5 to 8 years of experience in technical project management or engineering leadership within high-tech hardware environments.
- Deep technical expertise in areas such as semiconductors, chip design, photonics, optics, or processor architectures.
- A demonstrated ability to drive complex projects that integrate both waterfall and iterative development methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical plans and issues clearly to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
- You must possess the existing right to work in Belgium, as we are unable to provide single permit sponsorship for this position.
Location
This role is based in Leuven, Belgium, and operates on a hybrid work model.
Compensation and Benefits
We believe in rewarding our team members for their expertise and the impact they bring to our mission. We offer a competitive package designed to support your professional and personal life, including:
- Hybrid work arrangements to balance office collaboration with focus time.
- Flexible hours that prioritize results over a rigid schedule.
- Remote work options where they make sense for your workflow.
