The “Senior Project Engineer” position is part of the engineering team at Air Protein, and are responsible for managing engineering projects and programs from concept to completion. Duties performed are:

Develop capital proposals from management review and approval through commissioning

Preparing and maintaining technical documentation

Facilitating preparation, review and approval of project documentation

Coordinating, expediting, and receiving equipment and material delivery with the Process Engineering team to perform selection of contractors and vendors

Ensure commissioning readiness by performing testing

Assisting with commissioning activities and facilitation field fitting

Standard Qualifications and Experience

Minimum level of education:

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering, or closely related field; and2 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the food or biotechnology manufacturing domain; and, 2 years of experience in all of the following:

Engineering project management, design and proposal development

Managing capital projects for management evaluation with oversight of Cost, Scope and Schedule

Managing vendor selection, competitive procurement and expediting for capital projectsManagement and control of key technical documents, to include the following: (1) Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (“P&IDs”); and, (2) Process Flow Diagrams (“PFDs”); and, (3) Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”); and, (4) vendor qualification lists; and, (5) design standards

Coordinating activities and production planning with project and upgrade readinessPerforming factory acceptance testing (“FAT”), and vendor quality control management, and process qualifications of new installations

Food processing integrating sanitary practices and process design

Commissioning and troubleshooting of pilot or commercial scale equipment

Analyzing statistical data and product specificationsManaging industrial production processes

Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following, to wit: (1) Microsoft Visio Professional; or, (2) Autodesk AUTOCAD; or, (3) Microsoft Project; or, (4) Lean Six Sigma.
