Job Description
*Hiring will be into all Renesas EMEA offices, either for hybrid work or remotely*
In this role, you will be part of the AI & Cloud Engineering (ACE) Division and the Product Management team. ACE is developing a comprehensive AI strategy that delivers a highly flexible platform to explore new Deep Learning / Machine Learning model architectures, combined with auto-tuned high performance for production environments across a wide range of hardware architectures. The platform can improve performance, developer efficiency & deployment velocity of both AI training and inference.
As a Product Manager of ACE, you will define product strategy and design product features of multiple AI software products for internal and external customers. You will work closely with the customer service team to gather requirements directly from existing and prospective customers. You will then work with Software Architect and multiple engineering teams in ACE to build product features, roadmap and then manage delivery on-time with high quality. You will also work with Marketing and other cross-functional teams outside of ACE to ensure alignment following company standards. You will gain valuable experience in managing commercial grade software products and will help in driving next generation hardware software co-design for AI domain specific problems.
Our division mission is to use the latest AI and cloud technologies to develop the best AI inference for self-driving vehicles and advanced driver safety engineers. Renesas is the leading automotive electronics supplier globally, and this is a rare opportunity to deploy your AI software to the billions of devices we ship to customers every year. You will join our newly formed AI Solutions global research and development organization of around 100 software engineers. Due to strong demand for our AI-related products we are planning to triple in size in the next three years, so there is lots of room for you to help us grow the team together while remaining small. Our key locations are the Tokyo, London, Düsseldorf, and Ho Chi Minh City metro areas, but you can also join fully remotely from other locations globally or get our support to relocate to our key location hubs such as Tokyo.
Responsibilities
Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
Work closely with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.
Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related field. MBA degree is a plus.
Previous software engineering experience with programming skills
Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies.
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and cloud technologies
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in SaaS and/or PaaS.
Experience working with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX etc.
Understanding of System-on-Chip is a plus.
Ability to speak and write in English at a business level.
