We are on a mission to revolutionize the biotech industry by automating the production of human cells. Our technology is already being used by major biotech firms to accelerate drug discovery and cancer treatments. Having recently secured 19 million dollars in funding and backed by Y Combinator, we are looking for a visionary Senior Product Designer to join our team in the United Kingdom. As the founding member of our design team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of laboratory workflows while working alongside world-class engineers and scientists.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the entire design process from initial research and concepting to final pixel-perfect UI, collaborating closely with our founders and product teams.
- Solve intricate challenges by creating customer-centric and intuitive product designs that directly support our internal lab biologists.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive design systems to ensure a cohesive visual and functional language across all company assets.
What you'll bring
We are looking for a versatile designer who is comfortable with high levels of autonomy and eager to influence our product direction. You should have a broad skill set that spans the full design lifecycle, including:
- Expertise in Figma, which serves as our primary design tool, along with proficiency in Adobe CC, After Effects, and HTML/CSS.
- A deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods to validate your design decisions.
- The ability to translate complex scientific tasks into clear interaction models and user flows.
- A curious mindset and the ability to quickly master new domains, with a preference for candidates who have experience as a first designer at a startup or a background in scientific fields.
