The opportunity

As our Senior Product Designer, you will take ownership of the design and user experience across our entire digital product suite. You will be the bridge between our editorial mission and our technical execution, ensuring that every interaction is clear, impactful, and enjoyable for our readers. You will work closely with our Director of Design and collaborate across departments to turn complex problems into intuitive, high-fidelity solutions. This role is perfect for someone who loves the challenge of subscription-based design and wants to see their work directly influence how a community stays informed.

A day in the life

• You will lead the end-to-end product discovery process, from framing initial problems and conducting user research to delivering polished, high-fidelity UI designs in Figma.
• You will collaborate with our engineering, product, and editorial teams to evolve our design system, ensuring that our visual language remains consistent and accessible across desktop and mobile platforms.
• You will analyze both qualitative and quantitative feedback from our users to guide product strategy, identify opportunities for A/B testing, and iterate on features that drive engagement and retention.

Who you are

You are a seasoned designer with at least 3 years of experience, ideally within consumer-facing platforms or digital subscription services. You have a sharp eye for detail and a portfolio that demonstrates how your design decisions have solved real problems and delivered measurable impact. You are highly proficient in Figma and comfortable using data to inform your creative process. You communicate clearly, work well in a fast-paced environment, and are comfortable managing multiple initiatives at once. Most importantly, you are a collaborative team player who is passionate about the role of local news in our society.
