Senior Product Designer at Forward Financing's External Referral Program

Forward Financing is a Boston-based fintech company dedicated to providing fast, flexible capital to small businesses that are often overlooked by traditional lenders. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our remote team and help us build intuitive, high-quality digital experiences for our diverse user base.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers to deeply understand user needs and pain points across our various applications.
• Manage the design process from initial ideation and wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping and final production.
• Balance high-level business strategy with the fine details of UX and UI design, including layout, typography, and interaction patterns.
• Maintain and evolve our design systems to ensure our product components remain practical and consistent.
• Present your work in design reviews to gather constructive feedback from stakeholders and engineering partners.
• Perform user research to validate your designs and ensure we are solving real problems for our customers.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of experience designing and shipping digital products, ideally while working independently on specific projects.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and experience working with robust design systems.
• A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create polished mockups and interactive prototypes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical team members.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners like engineers and product managers.
• Foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS to understand how web interfaces are built.
• A proactive, growth-oriented approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
