About the Role

We are seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Database Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, security, and optimization of our database environments. You will work extensively within a Linux-based ecosystem and will be expected to support various layers of our infrastructure, ensuring that our systems remain reliable and performant.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage PostgreSQL clusters across production, development, and UAT environments, including bare-metal, virtualized, and containerized setups.
• Design and implement robust database systems, including data modeling and high availability configurations, to meet our evolving business requirements.
• Proactively monitor database health, troubleshoot complex performance issues, and optimize SQL queries to support our high-volume financial services environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience working as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL management, including high availability, replication, security, version upgrades, and disaster recovery.
• Strong technical proficiency with Linux operating systems and experience using containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries and perform hardware and configuration tuning.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, shell scripting, or PowerShell.
• An engineering mindset focused on root-cause analysis, debugging, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Familiarity with other database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, or Kafka is highly valued.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States, as we do not provide sponsorship for work visas.

Location

This position is based in the United States and requires an on-site presence.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000 per year. Please note that the final salary is determined by a variety of factors, including your specific experience, skills, and qualifications. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as a discretionary bonus.
