Senior Platform Engineer at DigitalService GmbH des Bundes

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. Our organization works in partnership with public administration to build a digital state, creating scalable and effective solutions through iterative product development. In this hybrid role based in Germany, you will help us strengthen the digital infrastructure that enables our project teams to deliver reliable, cloud-native applications. Responsibilities

• Drive the innovation and optimization of our platform infrastructure by developing internal tools and refining our Infrastructure-as-Code setups using Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.
• Foster collaboration and technical enablement across teams by creating comprehensive documentation, managing platform roadmaps, and providing expert guidance on self-service solutions.
• Partner closely with project teams to identify technical challenges, manage technical debt, and ensure our Kubernetes clusters remain performant, secure, and cost-efficient.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java, alongside a solid understanding of Linux system administration and networking principles.
• A product-oriented mindset that prioritizes the needs of developers, combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Fluency in English (C1 level) and a strong command of German, as both languages are used in our daily operations.
