Sixth Street is a leading global investment firm with over $100 billion in assets under management, and we are looking for a talented Senior Network Engineer to join our Workplace Technology team. We pride ourselves on using technology in progressive ways to support our private and public market investments. As part of our nimble, fast-moving engineering group, you will enjoy the resources of a major firm while working in an environment that values startup-style ownership and innovation. We are committed to building a diverse team of exceptional people, and we invite you to help us shape the future of our global infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
- You will take full accountability for our physical office networks worldwide, ensuring 100% uptime through proactive management, performance monitoring, and rapid incident response for our Cisco Meraki-based infrastructure.
- You will manage our VPN and Zero Trust solutions, collaborating with our Cybersecurity team to troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure secure access to cloud-based applications for our developers and users.
- You will act as a technical leader and architect, building strong relationships across the organization to investigate and resolve complex network challenges while driving investigations from start to finish.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have at least ten years of experience in network engineering and a passion for modern technical concepts. We are looking for someone who brings the following expertise:
- Expert-level proficiency with the Cisco Meraki ecosystem, including firewalls, switches, and cloud-based control planes.
- Strong knowledge of fundamental network concepts, such as physical layer standards, IP connectivity, routing, DNS, and network security.
- Familiarity with public cloud networking, including VPCs, security groups, and site-to-site VPNs.
- Experience managing external vendors, including internet circuit providers and cabling contractors.
- A solid understanding of the Linux ecosystem and command-line tools for automation, as well as familiarity with Windows and macOS environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and project statuses to leadership and stakeholders.
- A willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time and provide after-hours support when necessary.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
Joining our team means becoming part of a culture that values integrity, teamwork, and a bias toward action. While we do not have specific compensation details to share at this time, we offer a collaborative environment where you will have the opportunity to:
- Work on high-impact projects that directly influence our global investment operations.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software development teams.
- Grow your career by tackling complex, architect-level network challenges in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
- Contribute to a long-term technology vision that emphasizes automation and infrastructure-as-code.
