At Deep Genomics, we are on a mission to transform drug development by using artificial intelligence to decode the complexities of RNA biology. Since our founding in 2015, we have brought together a multidisciplinary team of experts in machine learning, statistical genetics, software engineering, and laboratory automation. We operate out of Toronto and Cambridge, where we use our proprietary AI platform to identify novel therapeutic targets and molecules that remain hidden from traditional research methods. We are looking for someone who is passionate about science and technology to join our collaborative, world-class team.
The opportunity
We are searching for a Senior MLOps Engineer to help us build highly performant, scalable, and replicable training and inference pipelines. You will work side by side with our data science, machine learning, and software engineering teams to design new systems from the ground up while refining our existing workflows. This is a chance to take ownership of our infrastructure and processes, and we want you to help us define how we handle genomic data, schedule training workloads, and evaluate model performance. Your work will directly shape the future of our platform and the way we deliver solutions to our researchers.
A day in the life
- You will package complex models for production, deploy them, and maintain rigorous performance monitoring to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- You will design and implement systems that make our deep learning models accessible and useful for our biologists and domain specialists.
- You will manage our machine learning infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments while promoting CI/CD best practices across the team.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer with at least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment. You thrive when requirements shift, and you enjoy mentoring your colleagues to help them grow their technical skills. You have a solid background in software engineering and machine learning, and you are comfortable working with deep learning models and cloud management. Proficiency in English is essential for this role. While not required, we would love to hear from you if you have previous experience in a startup setting or if you have worked with biological and genomic data before.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a unique environment where your work can have a tangible impact on the lives of patients. We provide a comprehensive package that includes the following perks:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our success.
- Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely.
- A hybrid work model that balances collaboration with personal time.
- Significant opportunities for professional development alongside a world-class team of researchers.
Deep Genomics is committed to accessibility. We welcome applications from people with disabilities, and we are happy to provide accommodations throughout the selection process upon request.
