What is this role?

We are seeking a Senior ML Engineer to join our Placer Team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position, and we are looking for someone with significant industry experience who thrives in an environment that demands high autonomy and ownership. You will be instrumental in developing the AI that automates component placement on PCBs, working across the entire lifecycle from initial research to production-ready systems.

What will you do?

• Take full ownership of complex problems, guiding them from exploratory research and development through to hardened, maintainable production systems.
• Develop and refine GPU-accelerated code using PyTorch and CUDA C++ to ensure our systems perform at the highest level.
• Navigate a diverse modeling landscape that includes reinforcement learning, graph neural networks, and combinatorial optimization to solve real-world geometric challenges.

What makes you a great fit?

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of industry experience in machine learning or optimization. You are comfortable working with PyTorch in a production environment and have a proven ability to bridge the gap between research concepts and functional code. We value candidates who can operate effectively in ambiguous spaces and who communicate clearly with their teammates. Proficiency in English is required, and experience with CUDA C++ or a background in geometric deep learning and multi-objective optimization will set you apart as a top candidate.
