Pacifico Energy is a global leader in energy infrastructure, helping bring complex, large-scale projects to life from initial development through to daily operations. With over 15 years of experience, we act as a trusted partner in engineering, financing, and construction, delivering high-performance power solutions for major energy users like data centers. We are looking for a sharp, driven expert to join our team and help us continue our track record of excellence in the power generation space.
Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is a senior-level role where you will serve as the primary technical authority for the design, procurement, and construction of gas turbine power generation facilities. You will guide projects through their entire lifecycle, ensuring our power solutions meet the highest standards for efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Your impact
- Lead the technical oversight of major equipment packages, including gas turbines, SCRs, and auxiliary systems, while ensuring all designs align with our long-term operational and economic goals.
- Manage the entire engineering lifecycle, from early-stage technology selection and feasibility studies to reviewing complex P&IDs and performance documentation.
- Serve as the key technical interface between our company and external partners, including OEMs, EPC contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure successful project execution and commissioning.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you should be a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of mechanical engineering and power systems. We value candidates who bring a strong owner’s mindset and the ability to bridge the gap between technical design and commercial reality.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in open cycle gas turbine power generation, including work in EPC execution or owner/operator environments.
- Advanced technical proficiency in turbine auxiliaries, package integration, and balance-of-plant interfaces.
- Proven experience navigating air permitting, emissions compliance, and environmental control systems.
- Professional fluency in English.
- A PE license is strongly preferred, as is experience with field commissioning and performance testing.
Perks and compensation
We offer a dynamic work environment where you can take ownership of critical energy infrastructure projects. While we do not have specific salary figures to list at this time, we provide a professional setting that rewards technical expertise and strategic leadership. We invite you to bring your skills to a team that values innovation, reliability, and high-impact engineering.
