At Fourier, we are dedicated to making on-site hydrogen a universal reality. Our team has developed a breakthrough architecture that features highly modular, fully automated electrolyzers, which are designed to scale to any size while maintaining peak efficiency across all loads. We are on a mission to shift the global energy landscape toward a sustainable, emission-free future, and we would love for you to join us in this effort.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to specialize in thermal and fluid systems. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the United States. We are looking for an experienced professional who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment and is ready to contribute to the design, assembly, testing, and optimization of our advanced systems.
What will you do?
- Design and validate cooling technologies for both air and liquid systems to ensure the thermal management of our electrolyzer stacks and electrical components.
- Take the lead on developing test plans and conducting hands-on lab testing to validate the performance and safety of our fluid and thermal designs.
- Collaborate across teams to select optimal hardware components, such as heat exchangers, pumps, and sensors, while managing the overall bill of materials and system integration.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and a passion for solving complex physical challenges. We value candidates who possess the following:
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, supported by at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- A deep understanding of first-principles physics, specifically regarding heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD design, including experience with piping systems, GD&T, and taking projects from initial concept through to production.
- A hands-on approach to work, including experience with assembly, DFM, DFA, and cost optimization.
- Fluency in English to ensure clear communication within our collaborative team.
What's in it for you?
We believe in supporting our team members both personally and professionally. When you join us, you will have access to the following benefits:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our long-term success.
- A 401k retirement plan.
- Generous paid time off for vacations and sick days.
- Complimentary lunches provided on-site.
