About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our R&D equipment design team. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will partner with our research and process development teams to build the hardware platforms that drive our carbon removal technology. You will be responsible for leading complex electro-mechanical subsystems through the entire product lifecycle, with a focus on rapid learning and iterative design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex electro-mechanical subsystems, ensuring they are robust, cost-efficient, and sustainable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including controls and software engineers, to integrate automation components like sensors, actuators, and motors into our hardware.
- Provide technical feedback on manufacturing processes and work closely with suppliers to ensure high-quality, scalable designs that meet our rigorous performance standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in product design across the full development lifecycle.
- Strong proficiency in engineering fundamentals, including experience with FEA, fatigue analysis, tolerance studies, and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to design for harsh industrial environments, such as high-pressure or high-temperature conditions.
- Expertise in creating accurate 2D drawings with proper GD&T standards.
- Proven success in project management and working within cross-functional teams to balance competing technical requirements.
- A commitment to mentoring teammates and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment.
