Senior Manager, IT at Sanctuary

Sanctuary is a world leader in developing AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, and we are currently looking for a Senior Manager, IT to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Canada. Founded in 2018, we are on a mission to create human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots by integrating symbolic logic with data-driven foundation models. In this role, you will lead our Enterprise IT function, overseeing the infrastructure, systems, and security initiatives that serve as the technical backbone for our machine learning and robotics engineering teams. You will work closely with our executive leadership to align our IT strategy with our ambitious mission.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive stakeholders to translate high-level business priorities into actionable IT initiatives across infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity.
• Serve as the operational leader for the IT team by managing the project backlog, clarifying timelines, and ensuring accountability for the timely execution of complex, cross-functional projects.
• Direct the evolution of our cybersecurity roadmap while ensuring our hybrid infrastructure provides the high availability and performance required by our robotics and machine learning development teams.

Requirements

We are seeking a leader with a strong technical background and a passion for building high-performing teams. You should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or cybersecurity, ideally within data-intensive or R&D environments.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in people and project management, with a proven ability to lead technical teams and drive organizational improvements.
• Hands-on technical proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, as well as experience managing both cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Atlassian.
• A track record of effectively communicating technical risks and concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Professional certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, PMP, or SAFe are considered a plus.
