Beam Benefits is a digitally-led company that has been modernizing the ancillary benefits industry since 2012 by leveraging AI-powered underwriting and a next-generation administrative experience. We are seeking a Senior Manager, IT & Security to lead our security and IT programs as we continue to scale our operations nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for our IT and security initiatives.
- Lead the implementation of software and infrastructure security standards across the entire organization.
- Partner with senior leadership in Engineering, Product, and Legal to ensure organizational alignment on security goals.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, including contract negotiation and issue resolution.
- Develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and data protection.
- Provide regular updates on our information security posture to executive stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop your team through performance management, career planning, and effective feedback.
- Oversee team design, hiring, and retention strategies to build a high-performing group.
Must-haves
- At least 8 years of experience spanning risk management, information security, and application security engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years in a security leadership or people management role.
- Proven expertise in cloud computing, specifically within AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, SOX, and SOC compliance.
- Experience developing and executing information security policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
