We are looking for a Senior Manager, Engineering to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity at our headquarters in New York City. At Bombas, we are a comfort-focused premium basics brand with a mission to support those in need. Since our launch in 2013, we have donated a pair of socks for every pair sold, expanding our impact to include underwear and t-shirts. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Engineering and guide the evolution of our online store experience by leading multiple engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, evaluate technical feasibility, and manage the planning and execution of customer-facing initiatives.
- Lead by example to ensure high-quality delivery across multiple simultaneous projects while balancing business goals with the management of technical debt.
- Act as a mentor to your direct reports and the broader engineering team, helping them grow professionally while fostering an environment of efficient, high-quality development.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Proven success leading teams within a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
- Strong technical proficiency with modern tools and frameworks, specifically Next.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, and Kafka.
- A demonstrated ability to solve complex problems efficiently and a commitment to mentoring through thoughtful code reviews and architectural guidance.
What we offer
