The opportunity

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on our Discovery Core Product team, you will be at the heart of how our community finds the content and creators they love. You will work alongside a talented group of product experts and researchers to redesign our primary search and discovery surfaces, including our homepage and experience charts. This role is a vital part of our strategy to drive growth, improve user engagement, and elevate the overall experience for our global audience. You will tackle complex problems in search and content understanding, ensuring that our platform remains an intuitive and vibrant space for all users.

A day in the life

• Develop and refine cutting-edge machine learning models for recommendation systems, search functionality, and advanced content understanding.
• Apply state-of-the-art techniques in Large Language Models and multimodal learning to deepen our understanding of user preferences and digital content.
• Create end-to-end solutions that enhance discovery across our platform while ensuring our machine learning systems remain scalable, reliable, and extensible.

Who you are

You are a seasoned engineer with a passion for pushing the boundaries of machine learning. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring a deep technical background to the table. Specifically, we are looking for the following:

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or C#.
• Expertise in recommendation systems, information retrieval, or GenAI and foundation models.
• A proven track record of building end-to-end ML pipelines, from initial data processing to production deployment.
• Experience sharing your research through peer-reviewed articles in top-tier venues.
• Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with our global team.
